People used to think that iMessage is a closed system that requires an Apple device. This article will introduce people to ways to respond and send iMessages on a windows 10 operating system without touching the iPhone.

Steps to Get iMessage on PC

This has solved the problem of people regarding how to get iMessage on PC. The solution to the following problem is the “Chrome Remote Desktop.” It is now extremely easy to send iMessage on a PC. The following setup uses an iPhone x as the source messaging device, a MacBook Air as the host PC, and a Windows 10 laptop or computer as the client PC. The following setup isn’t confined to still sending messages. The user gets a chance to do everything on the MacBook that it does on his iPhone, like checking email, installing apps from the app store, and many more. The user can get complete access to the Mac if the Chrome Remote Desktop runs in the background. There is no need to open Google Chrome on the Mac for this operation.

Messages for iPhone:

For enabling this, the user has to follow a certain series of steps. The steps are:

  1. The first thing the user needs to do is to open the Settings app on his iPhone.
  2. Then the user needs to tap on the Apple ID account and log into it. This is where the user will find the iCloud option.
  3. The third thing the user needs to do is to tap on the iCloud option. The iCloud option of iPhone tells about which apps are permitted to connect with the Windows 10 operating system and which apps are not.
  4. The user needs to check whether the option of “Messages” is toggled on or not. If the following is not toggled on, the user needs to toggle the following to green.

The user also has to follow a certain series of steps to do the same with the MacBook.

Messages for MacBook:

Like the iPhone, the user also has to carry out certain steps to enable messaging for MacBook. The steps are:

  1. Firstly, the user needs to launch the “Messages” application either from the dock, the Launchpad, or the desktop.
  2. The user then needs to sign in by providing his Apple ID and password. The following will provide him verification code if the user has activated the two-factor authentication. The user has to enter the verification code in the place provided.
  3. Then go to the menu bar and click on it. The user will find the option of “Messages” there, which he needs to choose. There the user will find the “preferences” option. The user needs to choose the “Preferences” option.
  4. The user needs to go to the iMessage tab option and select it. The following option can be found on the popup panel.
  5. The user needs to enable his account.
  6. Then, the user needs to enable the option of “Messages in iCloud” if it is necessary.
  7. It is then essential for the user to activate the “phone number and email addresses” option.
  8. The user needs to select or de-select “Sendread receipts.”
  9. The user needs to choose where he wants new conversations to begin. The following can be an email address or phone number.
  10. Lastly, the user needs to choose the “Sync Now” option.

Chrome for macOS:

Wait for iMessages up and running. The user needs to download Google Chrome for macOS, along with the required components. There are a series of steps that the user needs to follow to carry out the following. The steps are:

  1. The user needs to download Google Chrome.
  2. The user then needs to sign in to Google Chrome with his Google account.
  3. After that, the user needs to install the Chrome Remote Desktop Extension. Then, the user might see a message requesting authorization.
  4. The user then needs to enter Chrome and choose the option of apps in the browser’s address bar. The user then needs to click on the Chrome Remote Desktop icon. There the user has to scroll through numerous app pages to find the following. Once the user finds it, has to hold the control button while clicking on the icon for a menu tab to pop up. Then the user needs to select the option of “Create Shortcut” in order to add a shortcut on the macOS desktop for rapid access to the following.
  5. After the popup window appears, the user needs to click the “Get Started” button in “My Computers.” The user then needs to enable remote connections.
  6. Then the user needs to choose the option of “Accept and Install” to get the necessary host software.
  7. When the popup window appears, the user needs to select OK to download the Chrome Remote Desktop Host Installer.
  8. The downloaded file will appear as “chromeremotedesktop.dmg.” The user needs to open that file. The following file features the hosting package off Chrome Remote Desktop, which the user needs to install.
  9. After installing the package, the user needs to launch the Chrome remote desktop extension again.
  10. The user has to click the “Enable remote connections” button.
  11. The user has to create a six digits PIN. The user then needs to enter his Mac’s password again if required.
  12. A popup window will appear on the screen saying that “remote connections are enabled.”
